¿Qué tal Neuforianos?
Spain is officially having a moment. Not only did Spain dominate the 2026 World Cup, but their GDP growth and deficit control are the envy of the other big 5 European nations.
With Rosalía kicking down genre doors, others are rushing through; Judeline and Rusowsky, fresh off collab-ing with Karol G on the global #1 hit Bby Wow, Quevedo’s reggaeton hooks, Nita’s flamenco/electronic hybrid, Guitarricadelafuente’s folky pop, Marina Herlop’s alien piano, and BB Trickz mocking the drill scene.
Heck, even Gaudí’s Sagrada Família is finally slated to top out this year after 144 years. And you thought your contractor was ghosting you…
While the October playlist kicks off with pop, it finishes off with a Spanish flair with a viral Milwaukee Brewers World Series tribute tossed in for good measure.

Slayyyter, i think he’s got a girl (Pop/Alternative)– Pop’s reigning trailer-park queen returns to preview her upcoming LP wor$t man in america. The Missouri transplant has made a career out of being unapologetically tacky and gloriously extreeem. While her new single starts off with a U2-esque subdued guitar, it detonates into a thuddding, arena-sized chorus. I think he’s got a girl… and I think he’s about to have a concussion.

Troye Sivan, Le Boy (Pop/Alternative)– After preview cuts "Party" and "She's the Best" placed #4 and #1 in August and September Neuphoria voting, the Aussie pop star finally dropped his fourth LP, She’s the Best. "Le Boy" pairs Oscar Görres’s immaculate, slick production with a muffled car-radio verse that bursts into a soaring wall-of-sound chorus. Troye might still be searching for Le Boy, but he definitely found Le Earworm.
Ashe, Stop the Wedding! (Pop)– Berklee-trained songwriter Ashe scores a massive breakout with "Stop the Wedding!", vaulting to #2 in UK streaming and #6 globally. Hailed by critics as a thrilling collision of cinematic melodrama and Broadway flair, the track pivots from a tense, piano whisper into a breathless, pace-shifting theatrical chorus. Drawing on her own ill-fated first marriage, Ashe urges her younger self to spot the red flags and burn the dress before reaching the altar.

Tate McRae, Housewife (Pop)– Calgary hitmaker Tate McRae dropped "Housewife" on October 15, immediately storming to #1 in US streaming and #4 globally. Over a slinky, dark-pop beat, Tate flips traditional domesticity on its head, declaring she just wants to make a fortune and become her "own housewife." While Ashe is advising the bride to flee the altar and burn the dress, Tate solves the marriage trap by cutting out the husband entirely.
chi, Perfect 10 (Electroclash)– 21-year-old British/Nigerian DIY provocateur chi stakes her claim with "Perfect 10." Built in her bedroom on distorted synth bass, crunchy drum machines, and sneering vocal delivery, the track hits as a booming, unhinged electroclash banger delivered with unbridled braggadocio. Apple Music guest host Vince Staples singled out "Perfect 10" as one of October's top 5 new releases.

Olivia Rodrigo & Chappell Roan, expectations (Remix) (Pop/New Wave)– Grammys and Billboard crowns are fine, but achieving the true pinnacle of pop music, being crowned a Neuphoria winner, is a rare bond shared by both Olivia and Chappell. Joining forces on this glossy, Dan Nigro-produced remix that just cracked the global streaming top 10, the duo rides an ’80s new wave bounce while sneering at scrub partners with fake jobs and zero ambition.

Boy Harsher, Break Me (Darkwave)– Hailing from Western Mass, darkwave duo Boy
Harsher return with their fifth LP, GET MEAN, directly in the aftermath of their real-life romantic breakup. On standout cut "Break Me," Augustus Muller’s sinister, pulsing synth bass sets the stage for Jae Matthews’ coolly detached, hypnotic talk-singing that occasionally erupts into a shriek. Consider yourself goth-smacked.
Justice ft. Tame Impala, SZA & King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Flower in a Hurricane (Rock)– Talk about strange bedfellows: French electro royalty Justice, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), R&B superstar SZA, and psych-rock chameleons King Gizzard have somehow collided in the same studio. Commissioned as the flagship anthem for the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, the track is a shameless, potpourri of prime 1980s MTV nostalgia, anchored by King Gizzard’s “Money for Nothing”-esque chunky, processed guitar riffs alongside day-glo synth flourishes. Factor in SZA and Parker trading airy vocals over Justice's driving bass, and you get a retro-futuristic Vice City joyride.
Florence Road, 7563 (Alternative)– Barely twenty, Irish dynamos Florence Road clearly still smell like teen spirit. Armed with an Olivia Rodrigo co-sign and a tour with
Wolf Alice, the Wicklow girls deploy their momentum on “7563” by pairing crushing ’90s grunge with a full-throated power chorus. Good things come in 7563’s!

Fontaines D.C. & Rosalía, Where is Gone? (Rock)– From their October 16 critically acclaimed Dopamine Chamber LP, Dublin’s Fontaines D.C. deliver an unexpected crossover with Rosalía- further proof of Irish rockers’ obsession with the Spanish icon after U2 dedicated a track to her. Built like an epic spaghetti western, Pitchfork’s description of “Where is Gone?” as a modern-day Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra pairing is pitch perfect. These boots were made for haunting.

Miranda Lambert & Ella Langley, Snakeskin Boots (Country)– Keeping the retro-Western dust swirling, Miranda Lambert teams with red-hot breakout Ella Langley- fresh off shattering Billboard’s record for the longest-running #1 ever with "Choosin’ Texas." Trading sharp outlaw attitude over twangy acoustic picking, the duo delivers lethal one-liners like, "if the good all die young, she’ll slip the hangman’s noose." Lambert brings the veteran grit, but Langley steals the show with effortless swagger, casually puncturing the tension with a cheeky "C'mon now, bya-by."
Worldpeace DMT, School's Out (Alternative)– Operating from the UK underground, duo Leo Fincham and Rowan Please (of buzzy post-punks The Femcels) have built a cult following on an oddball blend of earnestness and irreverence. Serving as the lead track from their critically acclaimed October 16 LP Stick Around for Tea, "School's Out" bypasses modern indie tropes for pre-rock British music hall charm, layering chamber violin, bright glockenspiel, clopping woodblock, and metallic percussion into a jaunty bounce anchored by an infectious 60’s Britpop chord shift on the hook. Class is dismissed, but I’m sticking around for tea.
VAUNDY, Shiwaawase (J-Pop)– Tokyo’s genre-fluid wunderkind VAUNDY, who writes, arranges, and produces his own tracks and soundtracks major anime hits, has vaulted to #1 in Japan, with “Shiwaawase”. Originally released back in 2021, the track experienced a massive streaming resurgence via sentimental wedding and graduation reels. Driven by a bombastic, theatrical swell, its shamelessly over-the-top chorus is massive enough to anchor the climax of a Broadway musical. Yes, it borders on melodramatic sensory overload, but you may be hitting repeat before it even fades out.
Seyi Vibez, Back to U (Afrobeats)– Lagos Afrobeats kingpin Seyi Vibez has locked
down the #1 spot across Nigeria and pan-Africa with both his new LP SWAGUU and
standout single "Back to U". Known for gritty chronicles of survival delivered in rapid-fire Yoruba and pidgin over propulsive amapiano logs, Vibez takes an infectious left turn here. Backed by a breezy children’s choir singalong, the hook swaps grit for carefree joy.
Gabriel Jacoby, let’s talk about it (Southern Soul/Funk)– Rising out of South
Carolina via Tampa, self-taught multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Jacoby thrives on minimal arrangements and deep negative space. On "let’s talk about it" a skeletal, pocket-heavy groove gives him room to roam, sliding naturally from a pleading falsetto into conversational spoken cadence. His effortless command of rhythm and smoldering intimacy instantly bring the Reverend Al Green to mind- not a comparison to be thrown around lightly.
Foenem, Milwaukee Brewers (Meme-Rap/Midwest Trap)– The Milwaukee Brewers
are headed to the World Series for the first time in 44 years, and their clubhouse rally
cry is this unhinged, viral trap oddity. Online fans have dubbed it equal parts "deliriously brain-rotted" and "weaponized earworm" Between the gloriously stupid “Let’s play some baseball and get some home runs,” Foenem’s cartoonish falsetto and the intermittent Native American chants, it’s undeniably October’s most improbable anthem.

Nita, Aquí (Flamenco Pop/Tech-House Trance)– Spain’s music renaissance finds
another stunning ambassador in Nita (Cristina Manjón). Renowned as the co-founder of the boundary-pushing duo Fuel Fandango, the Córdoba native steps out on her solo debut Magma with thrilling sonic fearlessness. "Aquí" opens as an intimate quiet contemplation but builds deliberate momentum before unpredictably pivoting to a tech-house trance climax.
