Hey Super Graphic Ultra Modern Neuphorians!

If that greeting isn't a giveaway, this fortnight’s playlist recognizes Chappell Roan.  While she doesn’t have any new material released (her LP, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was dated Sept 2023), she is certainly the “It Girl” of popular music (sorry Charli😊), with the following resume:

• “Good Luck, Babe” is currently #1 in the US streaming charts

• This week “HOT TO GO!” just reached the Top 10 in US streaming, on the one-year anniversary of its release

• Two other songs from “The Rise and Fall…..” are now in the Top 20 US streaming, and

• Chappell swept the 2024 Festival Grand Slam, stealing the show at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and last weekend’s Outside Lands.  Even though she played at 4pm on Sunday at San Francisco’s OSL, she drew by far the largest and most fanatical crowd- and was sensational (I can attest)!

Hence, I’m making an exception to Neuphoria’s new release theme and including “Pink Pony Club” on this playlist.

The August 14 playlist also includes some impressive comebacks from aughts and 2010's artists who had been recently written off. Also- a fair warning to the more delicate Neuphorians, the biggest charting new releases from the UK, Africa and India have a harder and more explicit edge- so this playlist follows suit.
